Resources for Commuters

Become an Expert Commuter!

Each year, the number of people who choose bicycling for transportation is steadily increasing. While many of us have ridden a bike for decades, some of us are less clear about knowing what rules apply, riding through traffic safely or figuring out how to arrive in style for the first meeting of the day.

Join us for a Commute Class

Learn how you can take advantage of the commute to get some exercise, have some fun, and save some money. Our two-hour Intro to Bike Commuting: It’s How We Roll is taught free leading up to and during Bike Month. View scheduled times and locations. You can also bring this class to your workplace—contact us to set up a class.

For those who want to roll right into it, we offer Advanced Commuting: Laws, Tools, Routes and Rules—a four-part series (two hours each class) that covers just about everything you’ll need to know to become an expert commuter. The series also includes services at your workplace, like a bikability assessment, for those employers who’d like assistance designing, refining or planning bicycle infrastructure.

We also offer Winter Bike Commuting: Lights, Jacket, Action for instruction and tips on riding safely at night and in inclement weather, staying relatively dry and selecting the best routes.

Each of these classes can be taught at your workplace. Classes come with a set of materials for each participant and usually involve some riding component—so bring your helmet and bike! Contact us to schedule a class or to talk to us about how to customize a class to your workplace.
