Bike to Work Month

Visuals always help

Talk with your department webmaster. Ask them to place this logo on your workplace or department's homepage. Send them the graphic below. (Right click on the image to email it or save it.) Make sure you request them to take the graphic off your site by June 1.

Please place this thumbnail on your department's website and link to www.biketoworkday.org. We'd like to recognize the companies and organizations who are helping promote Bike to Work events. Please email the link to your website that displays the graphic to: peterv@cascadebicycleclub.org

Create Your Own Website or spreadsheet

  • Jim Carson while at Amazon.com hosted his own website for the 2003 challenge.
  • Sean Cryan of Downtown's top architectural firm Mithun created an elaborate spreadsheet to keep track of the 16 teams of architecture firms that participated. He was able to have his own in-house contest and challenge between the firms, which helped these companies sweep the top team of the year awards in every category!

Bike to Work Month Posters & Brochures

A picture says a thousand words. A great way to increase exposure of your message is a poster. Display posters in your office, lunch room or on a bulletin board. Print some extra brochures to hand out at the office.

Download your own high quality Starbucks Bike to Work Day poster (available mid-April) or send an email to Peter Vebrugge requesting copies. Make sure you indicate your name, the quantity you desire and your address. We have both 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17 color posters available, while supplies last.

NOTE: For large quantities of Commute booklets please contact Chris Cameron, our commute specialist.

Pictures

Take pictures of your team and send to peterv@cascadebicycleclub.org heading "BTWM Photos". Print out your pictures and display them on your bulletin board, at department meetings or on your own website.

Department meetings

You have a captured audience. Let others know at your department meeting how your Commute Challenge team is doing. Use this as recruitment strategy or a way to highlight your team's efforts during the (and before) the month.
