Summer Bike League Events

Join us for light refreshments, free "mini" bike fits, helmet adjustments, and the chance to share your summer cycling tips, tricks, skills and stories.

June 19: Dump the Pump Pit Stop

July 23: Cyclefest an annual cycling event that has turned into a rite of summer cycling – Seattle style.

  • Enjoy a tape delay of Wednesday's Tour de France's legendary Embrun to L'Alpe-d'Huez stage on the "big screen" with hundreds of other TdF fans.
  • Begins 6pm at Cascade Bicycle Club's Magnuson Park location.
  • Pre-Tour fun with Bicycle Polo exhibition, Kids Bike art and Parade and Cycle University Street Sprints race from 7 - 8:30pm!

September 14: Cascade Spawning Cycle at Myrtle Edwards Park.

Classes

  • Free to all registered participants. Register
  • All SBL clinics are 6 - 7:30 pm.
  • Location: Cascade Bicycle Club. 7400 Sand Point Way NE
    • Take a right immediately after entering the Magnuson Park gate and you'll see our sign.
    • No pre-sign up necessary for free clinics. Simply show up with your bike and appropriate clothing for riding and/or repair clinic.

Bike to Work & School

Learn how to bike to work or school. Cascade's talented instructors will show you how to safely and efficiently use a bike to sail by the sea of car congestion. Topics include: Bike selection and fit, equipment and accessory strategies, how to pack, road safety and skills.

On-Road Skills

Take this "hands-on-handlebars" clinic to learn the finer points of riding on roads as well as trails. We'll cover the basics of merging with traffic, remaining visible to motorists, "taking the lane", successfully navigating various intersection possibilities.

Trailside Repair

Learn the "Critical 3" trailside bike repairs/adjustments:

  1. Flat tire repair
  2. Derailleur adjustment
  3. Brake Adjustment

Without these easily learned skills, a short ride home can be a long walk home. Arm yourself with these must-know remedies to simple mechanical problems.

Bike to Market

If you haven't gone shopping or run errands by bike...you're missing out on one of your bike's best uses. It's easy to shop for a day or a couple weeks' provisions once you discover the "secrets" of packing and pedaling. If your shopping center is less than 2-miles from your home, it's time to reconsider your "hauling options".
