Basic Bike Maintenance Classes

Cascade offers three different maintenance classes. Our “Ancient Secrets of Bike Maintenance I” is taught by LAB/Cascade-certified instructors and the other two more-advanced clinics will be taught by a certified mechanic.

Ancient Secrets of Bike Maintenance I -- Fix a Flat (2 1/2 hours)

Learn basic maintenance techniques, including changing a flat, and simple maintenance checks. Bring bike and helmet. Includes handouts. $25**

Ancient Secrets of Bike Maintenance II -- Chains, Derailleurs (2 hours)

Learn basic methods for working on chains and derailleurs. Bring bike and any tools you have. $25.

Ancient Secrets of Bike Maintenance III -- Road Brakes (2 hrs)

Learn basic methods for working on brakes for road bikes. Bring bike and any tools you have. $25.

**REGISTRATION and LATE FEES: Preregistration required; note registration deadlines posted on individual class listings (postmarked or dropped off within 10 days of class date). An additional $5 fee applies to late registrations.

CLASS SIZE: minimum 5 and maximum 15. Maintenance classes, max 12. Classes are usually team-taught by 2 instructors.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS: You must provide a multi-speed bike in good working order for riding classes, and wear a CPSC-approved helmet (or ANSI/SNELL/ASTM). See each class listing for specifics.

REFUND POLICY: No refunds unless class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Registration may be transferred to someone else or to another date if arrangements are made within the calendar year.
