Bike to School

Bike to School 2007 was extradorinarily successful this year. 1004 students participated in Bike to School Month in 18 schools making a grand total of 10,053 trips. Whittier Elementary had the most trip at 1,374, while West Woodland Elementary had the most participants at 111 students. Even more impressive is that over 2300 students in 28 schools throughout the greater Seattle area rode their bikes to School on Bike to School Day.

How it Works

Rather than competing against each other, Elementary School students earned prizes by completing as many trips as they can. Cascade is offering incentives for certain numbers of trips to school made by bicycle.

In addition, Cascade is sponsoring an area-wide Bike-to-School challenge. The school team that makes the most total trips will win a bike stunt team show for their school and an article featuring their Bike-to-School team in the Cascade Courier.
